Essence de Patchouli from Perris Monte Carlo is based on a nostalgic story of two young men who travelled to Benares in India and came home with small glass bottles of dark oil. The brand tells of patchouli's Eastern origins, how silk traders used it against moths and how it was embraced in the 1960s for its calming effect. The fragrance combines pure patchouli oil with rose and geranium, softened by vanilla, amber and touches of sandalwood and guaiac wood. It launched in 2012 and was created by Gian Luca Perris.

The fragrance opens with geranium and rose. At the heart is iris, and it settles into a base of patchouli, musk, guaiac wood, coumarin, labdanum and cedar.

Essence de Patchouli is a woody, powdery patchouli fragrance for those who want a classic patchouli with a floral softness.
